    1. Finally!!! I'm done reading this headache killer of a book. Basically, I didn't feel anything at all. The beginning went well but after that, it just completely died. There was no romance if you ask me only puppy love. Sure we know if Hunter's past but really what else can we find exciting??? Here is my list of good and bad.~Good~1. Hunter's past2. Exciting Chase adventures3. Breath taking Dragos plots~Bad~1. Corinne being the mate!2. The short amount of time of Corinne over coming her horrible [...]

    2. Deeper than Midnight. What is going on with numerous reviews and fellow GR peeps telling me that this wasn’t all it was expected to be? Personally I think you should all give your selves a slap in the face. I will excuse this infringement and say you all have been in a book funk, because I thought this book rocked. It was easily one of my fav breed stories, not the best but pretty darn close. I went back and looked at my review for the last Breed novel that was released and I was not so much of [...]

    3. In every one of these books, we get a description of each woman's blood scent. At first, it was common things like vanilla, roses, honey & almond Like some sort of weird scented candles. And, like scented candles, eventually you just run out of ideas. So, the female in this book had blood that smelled like "dark bergamot and tender violets." Huh? What the hell's a bergamot? I actually looked it up and it said that it's a "pear shaped orange of the Mediterranean." Uh, okay.I feel sorry for th [...]

    4. I have been waiting forever for Hunter's book!! I was not disappointed! What I Loved:~I wasn’t confused at all. The author did a great job of refreshing my memory of the past storylines.~Great sexual tension. Hunter and Corinne were beautiful together.~It was partly set in Louisiana. I bet Amelie can make a bitchin’ pot of gumbo!~Getting more insight on the history of Gideon and Savannah’s relationship. I would love to be able to read more about how they fell in love.~Getting to meet Xander [...]

Breed warrior Hunter Special ability: Experiencing a person's memories by drinking their blood Age: Around 50 years old Breed mate Corinne Special ability: Sonokinetic, being able to control sounds and making them weaponsOccupation: None. She was a prisoner all her adult life. 6. 3.5 starsYou absolutely can't read this as a stand-alone; the continuing fight of the Order against Dragos comes to ahead here. The main couple of Hunter and Corinne are honestly only 10-15% of the story, the majority is bringing the Order and Dragos to ahead. This is done through many different POVs, with Lucan and Sterling Chase being the majority. Sterling Chase fighting going Rogue, is a good 30% of this with him almost feeling like the main character (his book is next). I love the world bui [...]

    7. This review was originally posted on Addicted To RomanceSummary  Corinne Bishop, was once a young woman living with privelege. She was adopted into a loving family, and she had a whole life ahead of her. But then the worst happened, she was taken, imprisoned, raped and tortured for years. Finally, she was rescued by the Order and she then meets the man who is to take her back home to her parents. Hunter joined the Order after leaving the only life he had ever known working for Dragos and found [...]

    8. Finally! I managed to get a solid 4 star read out of this series! I wouldn't go so far as to say that Deeper Than Midnight was on the same level as the BDB's story of Z and Bella, but I loved Hunter's journey here for a few of the same reasons that I loved Z's. There is something about a broken man who needs a woman to draw him out of his shell which speaks to me. Hunter was not a part of the world; he was just existing, doling out vengeance whenever he could. Corinne came along and showed Hunte [...]

    9. Let me start with what I love about this book. I loved the 1st half. The writing, the premise, and the plot twists alone, were written superbly. This one has alot of suspense, a trade mark to the Breed novels. I love that I got to touch base with all of the Warriors & their mates. U can't help but to care about them all and just because their books ended doesn't mean they are no longer important to us readers.Hunter, of course! What is not to love about this strong, silent "Hero" Even though [...]

    10. I've been looking forward to Hunter's story for quite sometime but wasn't too happy when I found out that Corinne was going to be his Breedmate. I just didn't care for her from before and wasn't too sure if they would work well with each other. I'm happy to say that Lara Adrian brought them together very well. They just fit and were so sweet together especially after everything they've both been through.I do have to say that you really have to just go with the flow on their relationship. I did f [...]

    11. This series is my absolute FAVORITE and was also my very FIRST series in the paranormal romance when I started years ago. Some of the books are much better then the others but all very good. Dante, Tegan and Rio's books are the best of this series, in my opinion. This storyline is probably THE BEST in the paranormal romance field. The world that Lara Adrian has built over the past 9 books is beautiful, dangerous, breathtaking, sexy and has you on the edge of your seat wondering what will come nex [...]

    12. I do love a freed assassin who is no longer forced to kill against his will and for the wrong cause. ;)The parallels between what Dragos did to both MC's made for a compelling read. I will say, I wanted more of these two and less POV switches to other characters. That's not something I always mind, as I understand there's a lot of big picture stuff going on in this book, but I felt Hunter's and Corinne's story suffered because of it. Had there been some follow-up in the last chapter regarding th [...]

    13. 2.5 stars: Not on par with earlier books in the seriesjust an OK readThe book started good but then went downhill from there. The first half I'd rate 3 - 3.5 stars. I liked the earlier parts with Hunter and Corine. I liked the over-arching storyline with the Order and their fight against Dragos. During those sections, I enjoyed seeing characters from the earlier books. However I did not like the other major plotthread about Harvard. It took up way too much of the storyline. I would have rather h [...]

    14. I wanted this book to be so much more because I have been obsessed with Hunter from his first appearance, so I'm sorry to say that I was disappointedThe story was sweet and nice but I wanted more from this amazing hero I wanted passion, an explosion of emotions, a heroine who would transform him. Well, Corinne was never that. She was this plain and boring girl who never reacted too strong to anything. I just felt like Hunter changed because he got in love with her but not because of her. I mean [...]

    15. Oh how I loved Hunter's book. I have always had a thing for him . I was not disappointed at all with this book. Only complaint was that it ended and left me want to know what in the hell is going on. What are they going to do.This book had many POV's. I loved that conversations between Lucan and Gabriel, Chase and Elise. Tegan and Dante and Tess. One really heart warming sweet moment happened amongst all the horrible things that were going on. I had completely forgotten about a certain something [...]

    16. Maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind when I read this book, but I just didn't really like it. I think mostly because there seemed to be two stories going on at once. I had been so excited about reading Hunter's story, and then he has to share it with Chase. I found myself getting into Chase's part of the story more than Hunter's. Still worth reading, but not nearly one of my faves of the series. It did set up the next book pretty well, though.

    18. OMG!!! What just happened? It all hit the fan in the final pages and then it just stopped. AARRRGHHHHHHH!!!! OK, OK, deep breathe. First, let’s talk about Hunter…“Born and bred to be a weapon wielded by the merciless hand of the Order’s chief adversary, he was long accustomed to viewing the world in logical, unemotional terms. He no longer served the villain called Dragos, but his deadly skills remained at the core of who, and what, he was. Hunter was lethal - unfailingly so.”Ooohh, th [...]

    19. So excited to finally get Hunter's story.  He, more than any of the Breeds, made me feel for him, want him have some measure of happiness to balance what he has already been through. Hunter is a Gen One Breed, born and raised to be a weapon against the Order.  He is no longer an enemy, instead an ally and a part, but he is lethal and seemingly emotionless.  Particularly in the first chase scene with Murdock and the fight with the assassin, you get to see how genuinely bad ass Hunter really is [...]

    20. I guess expectations are everything. I’ve been looking forward to Hunter’s book since his first appearance on page. But some of my fellow reviewers warned me that his book might let me down. So I started the story expecting very little and ended up pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t exactly the story I expected, but I enjoyed it.The reason I was so jazzed about Hunter having a book is because he is both a tortured hero who has never known love, and he’s a virgin. Both are right up my alley. [...]

    21. 3 ½ stars. After anxiously waiting for Hunter’s story, I have to say I was somewhat disappointed. The overall story was good; it moved forward and gave us insight of the changes that are coming. Some good action scenes, but there was not enough dialogue for my taste. Lots of description and thought out feelings that just went on and on. I did enjoy the involvement of the characters from the previous books, which was good to a point. I know that Chase’s book is next and there has to be somew [...]

    24. Review posted: Happily Ever After - Reads…His skin felt hot and confining, drawn too tight across his chest, and up along his neck. Lower still, the tightness was worsening by the second, his sex stirring, stiffening with the sudden upticking rush of blood through his veins. He growled quietly under his breath, though whether from shock or shame, he wasn’t sure. He didn’t want to feel this curiosity for her, this unwelcome sexual awareness. 25. Deeper than Midnight is the 9th book in the Midnight Breed series so although this review won't contain spoilers for this book it may include information from previous books. You might want to skip reading this review if you're not up to date with the series. If you're new to this series it is one I would highly recommend, it is absolutely my favourite paranormal romance series (for me even topping J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood books) and each book consistently manages to raise the standa [...]

Believe me when I say I use the term very loosely because many of them I truly believe don't even read the books they comment on. But enough of my ranting and let's get started on my review.*****There Are Some Spoilers Mentioned*****I have been intrigued by Hunter from when we first met him in Nikolai and Renata's [...]

    27. Favorite Quote: “You are the finest thing I’ve ever touched.”At the end of Taken By Midnight, Corinne and the other female captives were rescued by the Order from one of Dragos’s holding sites. Deeper Than Midnight starts out with Corinne wanting to go home and see her family after being missing for 70 plus years. Brock, her former bodyguard and member of the Order, is not available so Hunter volunteers to see her home. Hunter is attracted to Corinne but has seen a vision through Mira th [...]

    28. VILE cliff hanger. For ages I've been saying that the long story arc in this series is more interesting than the romances and should be advanced more quickly. For ages I've been saying that the romances are formulaic and most of the heroines are presented as being too stupid to live, but the he-man heroes rescue them and provide them the means to redeem themselves. First, let's talk about the formula. Girl is in danger. Boy rescues girl and takes her to safety. She either can't believe her eyes [...]

    29. A gripping story of heartache, betrayal, trust and the discovery of love that left me breathless; Deeper than Midnight is an exceptional addition to an already superb series! One of Dragos elite hunter’s, Hunter was bred for combat. Escaping his evil master and joining the Order, he still excels at the deadly art of assignation and shows no emotion…until the woman from a life changing vision is taken in by the Order and put under his protection. He is charged with the task of escorting Corinn [...]
