    1. I want to preface this review, by stating I don't often review books. My apologies if my review isn't written as eloquently as others ;-)Here goes-I received this book for free for an honest review and I'm seriously glad I was able to read such a fantastic book! I honestly had no idea what Starbound was about. I just knew that if it was written by J.l. Weil then it must be a good read.At first when I started reading this book, I felt maybe I was to "old" for this genre, but I found myself not ab [...]

    2. Starbound Condensed Review for .If you can imagine, for a moment, that I'm jumping up and down in slow motion with my arms waving about, and Beethoven's Ode to Joy is playing in the background, you'll probably get a good feel for what this book means to me.Because there are no wordsVER: Poor-man's Danaerys Targaryen stands in the woods in a black dress, beneath a magical symbol of some sort.OPENING: Ah, Starbound—you clearly know how much I love infodumps! 3. I enjoyed this book so much that I finished it in one sitting. The story was smooth and flowed very well! It had me laughing out loud quite a bit! J.L. Weil made it even better by having duel POVs with the main characters. "Katia Montgomery’s life is charmed. She is pretty, popular, and dating the star basketball player. So then why is she miserable?Seth Nightingale has always known that the sassy and spunky Katia is destined to be his—that they are starbound."I loved these 2 main characters [...]

    4. I devoured this book in a matter of hours. As another reader said, the dual point of view was great. It made you actually get to know both characters on a more personal level. I felt the relationship in this book rivaled how things are in real life. Not everything in life is butterflies and roses, and not everyone will kiss you butt or spout beautiful love words every moment. This book was heartfelt and it showed the true price of sacrifice and what true love really looks like. The characters ar [...]

    5. well I hate to be the debbie downer here, but meh. I read the previous reviews and was optimistic but I had a hard time finishing it. this was my first time reading this author so I didnt know what to expect. just too many cliche sentences, too many failed attempts to sound witty and the the story line and action of the characters were either too predictable or just plain annoying. sorryI tried to like it but it just fell flat for me.

    8. This review is also posted on Musings of the Book-a-holic Fairies, Inc.First, I want to thank the author for this complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. It was a joy to read this book. The main subject of the story is the supposed imminent death of the heroine - and eventually, the hero - because of a certain curse. Suprisingly, the book kept its tone light and witty.Let me explain the gist of the story first.Katia and Seth are destined to be soulmates. In the story, the term used i [...]

    9. I was one of a lucky few to receive this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review; and having read all of J.L Weil's other books I was more than excited to read Starboundd I was not disappointed!I think one of the best things about the book is the dual POV, it was nice to be able to understand things from both Katia and Seth's points of view, especially in terms of how they felt about each other and the curse placed upon them. It made each chapter interesting because as the [...]

    10. I received a complimentary copy of the book for an honest review and boy did I love it!The book is told in a dual POV which really complimented the story-telling and the progress of the story. Both main characters were really relatable and easy to get along with, Seth was a really honest guy and Kate was a girl that let life and social standing rule her demeanor, even if that wasn't who she really was. The chemistry between them was undeniable and the story was really interesting regarding the c [...]

    11. *I received a copy of the eBook from Lovers of Paranormal (LOP) in exchange for an honest review.*Is Starbound a modern day Romeo and Juliet? Their families despise each other yet these nixies are drawn to each other. They both come from families of magick. Although they appear to deny their chemistry and attraction, their pull to each other is undeniable. Is it love? Are they cursed?Katia Montgomery and Seth Nightingale are seniors hoping to complete their final year of high school and move on [...]

    12. Not even sure where to start with this review but this book was, as I expected, a fantastic book. I really do hope there's going to be another book coming out (although I doubt it). There are some parts in this book of which I had expected to happen but there were also numerous parts that I hadn't expected the least bit. This novel is so good that I had to stay up until 3 am last night, I may be tired but it was worth it. A book that once started, must be finished. The only reason I did 4 stars [...]

    13. I don't know, maybe it's just me but I don't like Katia. She's so out of control. She's the one to blame for the whole curse manifesting itself, and for Seth's efforts and sacrifices to be in vain. Then there's the curse as well. I really don't like how it was defeated with minimum fuss and effort. Her grandma, that was introduced near the end of the book, just suggests something at the last minute, and then Katia survives the curse with 2 hours to spare What a joke!

    14. I loved that the author did this story from dual POV it really made the story flow very well as you got one character reaction to the story and then you flowed into what the other character was feeling. The author did a great job of keeping you reading and the hottness factor was not over powering to the point where you did not want to stomache the romance between the main characters. A great stand alone story thanks for the chance to review it.

    15. I loved this book. I'm a huge fan of this author. I have read most of her books. This one is as wonderful as the others. I like the characters and the plot. The development of both are well done. I like that the story isn't a cliffhanger. If you have read any from Weil before, you'll like this one too. Also, if you like stories about soul mates, you will definitely like this! I read it in a matter of hours. Great book!

My imagination is running wild with possibilities of how their story could continue. If you haven't read any of J.L. Weil's books get one today. I'm definitely a huge fan!

    17. A delightful teenage romance with intriguing magic! Overall, this was a charming story that kept my interest piqued the whole way through. The magic elements were unique and also perfect for a teenage romance, making me truly feel that this plot would appeal to a mass of teenagers if put on the big screen. It hints at the nostalgia that The Twilight Series brings out in it's fans while also showing originality and unpredictability in the face of danger, all the while adhering to the drama that t [...]

    18. I'll admit, there were a lot of things I liked about this novel. It was part of a story bundle, but I haven't read any of the others in the bundle, so I went ahead and marked it as that I read it alone. Most of the story was good. There was a lot of action going on, there was friction between the two characters. That said, I was less impressed with the ending. I thought it was weird how the parents handled the curse their daughter was under, as well as the fact that the curse took so long to "act [...]

    19. 3 & 1/2 stars rounded up.The story did not flow as well as some of the other books I’ve read from this author, there were a lot of slow down-speed up type moments, & I felt like it should be Y/A except for the one sex scene (that was very tame). Without that sex scene it would definitely have been a Y/A book. I felt the sex scene should have been left out, as they were still seniors in high school, at 17-18 years old, I felt it’s not good examples for youthful readers. (I’m aware t [...]

    20. Not entirely my cup of tea. Plus there were some errors, which always drive me nuts. Mostly stuff like going instead of doing. In that instance it was, "What are you going out of your room?" When you know they meant "What are you doing out of your room?" Then there is the very catty, VERY teenage Kat, the female half of the protagonists. I couldn't like her character for the life of me. Still the story was well written and I really wanted to know what would happen. If you are more of a teen dram [...]

    21. I really enjoyed reading this book. I actually read it as the first entry in the Shattered Worlds box set, and I feel in love with Weil's writing with this story. It's the same story told from two different point of views, and I think it's masterfully done. Katia and Seth are so easy to fall in love with in this book, and you learn they are genuinely interlocked in a real love/hate type situation. I'd recommend this book for fans of the fantasy and supernatural genres with a slight romantic edge [...]
