    1. 4 stars. I like this story very much. I first saw the Barbie Movie of Twelve Dancing Princesses and loved it. I didn't know it was a Grimm fairy tale. :-) This story is very clever and imaginative.

    2. جالب و دوست داشتنی بود، همون قدر که داستان های پریان کلاسیک میتونن باشن. کوتاه بودنش و سادگی بیش از حدش اجازه نداد تا به جذابیت قصه های پریان خودمون برسه

    3. Found this today while cleaning out my apartment. It is my favorite, but fairly unknown (unless you count Barbie) Grimm's fairytale. It is a beautiful story with beautiful artwork to match.

    4. RatingI’m giving The Twelve Dancing Princesses four and a half stars out of five.GenreThe Twelve Dancing Princesses is a classic children’s faerie tale by the minds of the Brothers Grimm.About the BookThis is the story of 12 princesses that wear their shoes down to holes every night and their father’s quest to find out what happens when the moon shines over the kingdom. Why did I choose this book to read?I have an app on my phone with all the Brothers Grimm stories on it. Coming along this [...]

    5. The moment I lay my eyes on this fairy-tale, I remembered my dear friend Dhuha who loves this one and loves the fairy tale retelling of it.It was lovely and I am so ready to read the adaptation or retelling of this wonderful girly fairy-tale the way, the 12 princesses were so cruel to let someone die for them only so they can dance.

    6. I decided to check out the retelling of the 12 Dancing Princesses as illustrated by Errol Le Cain, and anybody that picks up this copy will not regret it. The costuming of the princesses along with the magically celestial underground world they enter each night is gorgeous.

    8. "Las Doce princesas fiesteras" sería un título más apropiado, creo yo. Me quedo con la versión de Barbie.

    9. The whole story is not telling a tale of the shoes that were danced to pieces but a tale of mistrust. It's obvious that the king had never trusted his daughters; he treated them as his princesses rather than daughters. As a resultant to all this, his daughters never felt encouraged to open up for him and told him were they danced their shoes to pieces every night. He acted like a king and put his daughters as a prize for who could solve this mystery which was so mean. Nevertheless, it is still a [...]

    11. 2 stars for the storytelling (it was okay, a lot of the magic and mystic of the original story was left out of this book and I found it wanting) and 4 stars for the artwork (the traditional art is beautiful and I loved the use of texture and volor). I enjoyed it mostly for the artwork and that's why I'd recommend others checking it out.

    13. This book has so many short tales in it and they all could have different meanings to them. The Mongoose is about a young princess that thinks the world of herself and no man is good enough. She has three men come to try to win over her love and the first two fail. The third begs for another chance to prove that he is worthy. So he tried and tried and finally succeeded. I read this to my daughter and she loved it. She is young and does not understand all the underlining in the story. She saw it [...]

    14. I have read this book so many times, I have lost count. I fell in love with this book several years ago when I found it in the library. One of the main reasons I liked it, was because it introduced new fairy tales to me. I gained several new favorite fairy tales, including "Thousandfurs," "The Three Little Men in the Wood," and "One-eye, Two-eyes, and Three-eyes." In addition, the prose was written exactly as the Grimm Brothers originally penned it (or at least, as near as I can tell), which add [...]

    15. I am just imagining the modern retelling of thise twelve sexually independent women and the old creeper soldier who stalked them.Of course, it's not framed anything like that, and I didn't review so low because of any feminist outrage (I save my feminist outrage for books that aren't 200 years old), but because I wasn't really interested. The Grimm's give us this look at a potentially interesting underground world, which seems associated with fae realms, and then the story ends with the princess [...]

    16. This collection on the original Grimm fairy tales are have all of the classic stories which are a sharp contrast to the fuzzy stories that most students (and myself) were read as bedtime stories. I could use this in middle school and high school literature classes to compare the different versions of the stories to that of the time period in which they were produced. Additionally, students could select multiple Grimm tales that share common themes or motifs and write a literary analysis paper on [...]

    18. This was pretty cute. I like the idea of this tale better than some of the other lesser known ones. I love that they place they went dancing was an underground castle with forests of gold and silver and diamonds. (Oh the splendor.) However, I felt bad for the oldest princess who the man chose at the end. Didn't sure already have her underground prince that she loved? :(

    19. I thought that this book was a very sneaky one. The sisters some how left every night to go dancing. Only through the magic from mother nature, a prince is able to be invisible and follow them to find out what they do. This would be a good book to have in my classroom library because it may speak to the readers about dancing, and it may be a good book for them to connect to.

    20. So thid one was a bit different to what I expected. I had never read this story or heard of it before but the title caught my attention. So in this one the princesses are cruel (seriously who lets someone die just so you can go dancing) in the end i was hoping that there wasn't a happily ever after

    21. The Brother's Grimm classic fairy tail isn't as gentle as stories now, but still an intriguing tale.

    22. This was one of my favourite stories as it was more developed in the storyline and had more of a plot to it. The characters were very good and I enjoyed the trickery behind it as well as the magical element.
