By the time she was three years old, K.M Guerin had already worn out two VHS copies of the movie The Little Mermaid , and was well onto ruining a third Throughout her life, the same all in, borderline obsessive passion would remain constant, whether it was for writing, singing, or the Cheshire Cat She first grew interested in the Middle Ages during her time in high school theatre, due to the overwhelming love of the local Renaissance Faire by her peers.While preparing for her first visit, she picked up a Tudor historical fiction novel by Philippa Gregory to help get into character Before she finished the very first chapter of the book, she knew she had found her literary home Devouring stories about England, France, and even Germany, she couldn t help but notice the distinct typecasting of Spain as the one dimensional Big Bad the dark and crooked Phillip II of Elizabeth The Golden Age , the smiling betrayals of Charles I of The Tudors , even the use of the Dowdy Spanish Wife trope sparked a curiosity in her mind, and thus, THE TRAST MARA SERIES was born.K.M Guerin has lived in Michigan USA her entire life, now with her husband, son, and Boomer dog When not writing or spending time with her family, she enjoys reading, baking, Tim Hortons, watching the Red Wings, and pretending the dishes in the sink don t exist.

    1. I swallowed the rest of this book this afternoon. It was honest and painfully real. One of my favorite things about K.M. Guerin's books is the realistic portrayal of people. There are many kinds of women in the world, but not all of them get to shine in literature. I did enjoy her first book over this one. (Primarily because I preferred the main character in the first to that of the second, which is purely personal) But I did find myself attached and wanting to know what happened, even if the Qu [...]
