    1. "Sweet Release" was a huge surprise, considering what I'm used to from Ravenna Young. Oh the great writing was there, with good descriptions, monologue, and scenes that elicit a bag full of emotions. This line spoke to me "The past was her salvation, her present a nightmare, and her lonely future threatened her sanity." But we start out in the dark as to what's going on. Is the protagonist waking into a haunted house? Hmmm You'll have to read it to find out. Just as light is being shed on this [...]

    2. A woman returns to a house where a terrible tragedy occurred.I thought this was a very good short story (it took less than 15 minutes to read). The sense of dread / trepidation / loss that the woman feels is very well conveyed and I found myself fearing for her. The eerie nature of the house (without her other half) was unsettling and rang true. The supernatural element / self doubt the woman felt was believable plus the ending had a really unexpected twist. If you enjoy creepy short stories this [...]

    3. It's hard to write a review of this book without spoilers because the book is quite short. Returning to the scene of a recent tragedy, Annie has to face her feelings, and we experience the events that take place in the next, roughly half a day.The emotions are there, the descriptions are all working, I think this turned out to be a great, if a little dark, story. The only thing I couldn't really place anywhere is the cover. I either missed something, or the cover has nothing to do with the story. [...]

    4. This is very well-written, short story with an interesting twist - don't worry I won't reveal it.The author drops literally at the front door with the main character, Annie Cook, and her mother. We are immediately confused and bewildered, but such is the quality of the writer, we are also intrigued and wanting to find out more.As this short story unfolds, the reader is led along with the protagonist to the inevitable conclusion. If you are a lover of romantic stories, you are going to want to rea [...]

    6. Sweet Release is a suspenseful little gem that kept me guessing right up until the end. Oh, and what an ending it is! Guaranteed to tug on your heart strings and have you grieving right along side of Annie. Young does a wonderful job of cramming tons of emotion into as little as eighteen pages

    7. Annie Cook & Tim had bought their 1st. house. But things changed for her drastically when she came home 1 day & found Tim (husband) dead on the kitchen floor. How will her future turn out now?I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one. A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written tragic s [...]

    8. The story starts with a great sense of trepidation as you find Annie standing outside a house where you get the feeling something terribly tragic has happened. I was curious to learn more, and as Annie walks around the unwelcoming musty house you get a sense of her overwhelming loss and the life she used to have.I enjoyed the descriptions in this book and really got a sense of the atmosphere and Annie’s feelings. It made for a great short read with some real emotional impact.I received a free [...]

    9. I was thrilled when I received this short from the author for an honest review, I delved right into it. But alas, the thrill was short lived. It's not the story, nor the writing, but the sudden twist coming right before the sudden the ending of the story that has me wondering, what the hell? I’m not going to put any spoilers in this review and give away the ending, but if this is a cliff-hanger, what a drop. I’m still reeling. Enjoy!

    10. This is a sad, but well written short story about a woman who has just lost someone they love. It's hard hitting if the reader has also lost someone close to them. The grief is real and well written The story is short, but the emotions are real. There is a twist at the end that I won't reveal because I never put spoilers in reviews. You'll just have to read yourself
