    2. I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads. This is a prequel to The Keeper Saga. It is an extremely short read. This basically gives you a short insight into how the Keepers come to be. Due to the lack length of the novella I couldn’t really get into the story. The writing was good and there is a depth to the character that is very unexplored. I am for sure going to be reading the next book to see where this characters take us.

    3. This was an awesome short pleasure to read. This Novella is a prequel to Thompson's Keeper Saga and gives us the history of how the Wolf Gift/Curse depending on how you see it, came to be. We meet Swiftfoot and Shining Star who are very much in love and then tragically torn from each others arms. This particular part of the book is heartbreaking, the love between Swiftfoot and Shinihg Star is immense and the goodness of her spirit is admirable. You will ache for Swiftfoot's loss. In his grief an [...]

    4. This novella is the prequel to The Keeper Series. This story was quite short, but I think the story was appropriately told within the short amount of time. The story had a very authentic Native American background, which I really enjoyed reading. The author did a great job of describing what it was like during those times. Even though this novella was short, it had a lot packed into it. There was mystery, romance, revenge, and shifters. I really enjoyed reading about Swift Foot and his journey, [...]

    6. I haven't read any of the books from The Keeper Saga. That being said, this prequel has definitely piqued my interest! A very quick read but gave me enough to want to see what else this series holds!

    7. Thanks for a free book to read and review for Wicked Reads. Nice start for a prequel. I'm interested and it was definitely enjoyable, but short and really not much to go on. Overall entertainment is three stars.

    9. i had the saga and mistakenly read the prequel first. i had no idea what was going on xD it was nice to imagine a different world in my head. but everything made sense when The Wolf came into the picture. Might be a different reading perspective if read this as the third book in the saga.

    10. great prequel for the series but it's only about 50 pages, the remaining 40+ pages are the start of book one - which is where I started so skimmed, didn't re-read Book 1.

    12. I received an ARC for an honest review. The Wolf is the prequel to The Keeper Series. It is very, very short and doesn’t take any time to read, however, I think it does the job of making the reader want more. I love the feel of Native American folklore that runs through the story. The story is well written and the characters are surprisingly well developed despite the length of the novella. I like how the book brings a little of all the elements of a good paranormal book into these pages. The [...]

Upon Shining Star's death, Swift Foot tries to bargain with the Great Spirit and fails. The Great Spirit gives Swift Foot a gift, which takes him many years to come to grips with.Once his grief has eased, Swift Foot returns to his tribe, only to find the village decimated. Searching for survivors and finding them, he as [...]

    14. This really got me interested in following the story of the Keepers! The detail was amazing! I loved reading all the descriptions of the village and the people in it. The love between Swift Foot and Shining Star is so intense and beautiful. It is a great introduction to the rest of the series because it makes me want to know how the rest of the story plays out. When I read K.R. Thompson's stories she makes the "paranormal" and "fantastical" happenings seem like something that could actually happe [...]

    15. *I was provided a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. The Wolf, is a very short read and it is the prequel to the The Keeper Saga. Although it is as short as it is, the story inside gives us a glimpse of just how the wolves came to be, and why. As I read it, I at first felt really happy for the two characters sharing their love and being so helpful to their village. As I read on and I realized what they were up against and the pain and loss of being torn apart, it was for sure en [...]

    16. Going into this short novella I didn’t know what to expect because sometimes they fall short. However; with this one you actually learn the back story of what the series is about and it made me now want to go read the stories. The author captivated my attention quickly with the details she wrote with the plot and the beautiful scenes, even though not all of it was as we wanted them. The characters are we defined to make the readers understand the happiness and also the pain they have to go thr [...]

    17. The young man Swift Foot makes the most innocent yet tragic of all possible decisions: he falls in love with the "wrong" sister, and she with him. Shining Star is his soul mate, but her sister in her jealousy harbors other plans for the happy couple. Thus begins The Wolf, prequel to Hidden Moon, which is Book 1 in The Keepers Saga. The Wolf is a short story written in a charming, straightforward style that evokes ancient mythology from across the globe. Like what Tolkien's The Silmarillion does f [...]

    18. This is a short story about the legend of The Keepers. I recommend reading this one first before moving onto the series. It gave us some really good back story that should come into play in the next books (which I can not wait to get started on)Of course there is no HEA, which I am more than fine with, but this is a prelude of what we can expect to come in the next books. Now to get started on book 1!!!!Would I recommend this book? Yes if you are wanting to read the series. Good background infor [...]

    19. The was a great story all by itself without being a prequel to the Keeper Saga. The most interesting stories start with legends and the Native Americans have some of the most fascinating one. This short tale tells the story of Swift Foot , Shining Star and Crow women. Both women love the same man but only one has his heart. The story was fast paced, very emotional and keeps your interest right from the start. True love is beautiful , pure and bright but jealousy is evil and darkness will always [...]

    20. Lost LoveSwift Foot loved Shining Star with all his heart and on their wedding day, her sister practiced dark magic and seeming to be a huge bear pushed her off the mountain to her death. Swift Foot was devastated, went down the mountain and carried Shining Star to their home. I could feel Swift Foot's pain. He tried to get the Spirit's guide to let him join Shining Star in the heaven, but he wasn't able to go to her. This short story can be read in under one hour; and, I recommend this book so [...]

    21. "The Wolf" by K.R. Thomspon. This is a prequel novella for the upcoming Keeper series by the author. It's the story of two Native American Indians that have found true love. The author has done a fine job of relaying the feelings and thoughts of the main character - Swift Foot. She describes the environment in a way that the reader can envision. There are a couple of twists as well, which set the stage for the series. I do look forward to reading the next book - Book 1 - Hidden Moon. This, being [...]

    22. This prequel is interesting, but rather routine. While the writing style is great, the story left me feeling like I had already read it before. Having said that, I will also say that I do like the characters, the way the story flows, and the attention to detail. The writer obviously has talent, but it just seems to be a bit muted here. As the Native American shifters are a favorite subject of mine, I will most likely give the series a try and hope the muting is only present for this prequel. It w [...]

    23. I really liked this short story and it held my attention really well but what I didn't like was that it was dropped in the middle of the series without any warning. I thought for sure I was going to be reading in Wynters POV from the way book 2 left off . I was extremely confused when I started reading and didn't know when I was going to start the other story again. I feel like the writing is all over the place in this series and I keep reading because the story intrigues me more than I am confu [...]

    24. A great story prequel to the Keeper Saga SeriesSwift Foot and Shinning Star are lovers and Crow Woman is most definitely against it. She believes he was meant for her. With her black magic she tries to kill off Shinning Star only for Swift Foot to come in time to stop her. Crow Woman then pushes Shinning Star over the cliff. From here Swift Foot goes seeking the Great Spirit to ask to be joined with Shinning Star in the heavens. What happens when the Great Spirit answers, is not at all what Swif [...]

    25. This is a Prequel to Hidden Moon by K.R. Thompson. I have to say K.R. Thompson did a great job with this prequel I can not wait to read Hidden Moon. The way K.R. told the story I found it very interesting and a page turner. I really like the quote "I shall put her in the sky and the you might always see her" THE GREAT SPIRIT. So very true when you lose a love one. To know they are watching over you and someday you will be with them again.

    26. A must read prequel. Read it because it is one of the most beautifully written beginning to a great series. You have to read it beacause it sets the story up for you and you then see all the hidden apects. There is is intrigue, the supernatural, revenge, and love. A story of true love and what can happen when a third party feels cheated of that love. So colorfully written you can almost feel the cool breezes and smell the forest. You don't want to miss this prequelad it!!

Really loved the way it's written, you can almost hear the storyteller reading it to you. Very nice intro to a series, I certainly hope the following books are just as enjoyable.

    28. The names are of the characters are a little silly but that doesn't define the story. It starts as a love story between Swift Foot and Shining Star. Shining Star's sister Crow Woman is jealous because she too loves Swift Foot. After Crow Woman killed her younger, You follow Swift Foot on his journey to save his people. Can't wait to start the series now!

    29. A short read but well written story. It's no secret that I prefer long stories to novellas but this made an enticing entry to the author's Keeper Saga series. It's not my typical genre of choice but it definitely left me wanting to read further and check out more from the author. Most certainly an author that is being added to my watch-for list.
