    1. I've missed Cade and this was good mini-adventure with him and Zach as they tackle the latest supernatural threat, set in between the second and third books. We also get introduced to a new character that I'd like to see more of but time will tell on that one. In any event, this story just whetted my appetite for another full Cade novel which, hopefully, will come sooner rather than later.

    2. Short novella/novelette, not as good as the full sized books. This (short) book will suit those who enjoy a good, solid (but very slim) conspiracy, some supernatural elements (at least one), and thriller and suspense style action (delivered in a very small package)

    3. Always glad to get another Nathaniel Cade (and Zach Barrows) story, however short it is. Like many fans, I have been eager for a fourth novel in the series. This, while quite enjoyable, just made me miss the series even more. Is that a good thing? It is my kind of short story, a good self-contained adventure with a clear beginning, middle, and end, not just a literary thought exploration of some idea that is never fully followed up on. The adventure clearly takes place in the Cadeverse but doesnâ [...]

    4. Quick read about our favorite vampire. The Burning Men is a short story starring Nathaniel Cade, the President’s vampire and Cade’s handler, Zack. It’s the story of some men who seem to be able to spontaneously combust when they will it. The fire is so intense that it takes out people around them. However, it is a one-time deal. Their original goal was to attack places of political power but they are unable to do that so their plans change.Cade and Zack get the first call after a fire in a [...]

    5. Good quick read with Nathaniel Cade searching out "burning men", set between books 2 and 3. Introduced a new character, Dr. Ramos, who seems to be a good foil for Cade. Hope to see more of her in future books. Speaking of that, when is the next book coming out, anyway?

    6. An unenthusiastic three stars from me. It would have been two, really, but I sort of laughed about the whole Burning Man thing. Yes it was funny, because hippies. So, while this was ridiculous in the same way as the rest of the series, it fell flat with me, maybe because a lack of a good amount of bickering, I'm not sure. I think the more that I talk about the short story, the more I actually don't like it, so I'm going to just stop so that I can still give it the three stars that I wanted to gi [...]

    7. A good short adventure about Cade and Zach. It wraps up a little too neatly--it felt like there wasn't quite enough challenge for Cade at the end. However, there are some good gems in the dialogue, and I liked the new medical examiner with the hots for Cade. I hope we see more of her in later stories. I hope there's more planned in the Nathaniel Cade series, because I need it!

    9. A GREAT STORY THAT JUST LEAVES YOU WANTING MORE OF CADE & ZACH. This was another must read book by Christopher Farnsworth with Nathaniel Cade as the main character. Definitely another 5 star review and I'm so very ready to see what else is in store for this Vampire and his handler Zach Barrows. This is one great duo and I am loving that their back together again and of course can't wait to see what Christopher Farnsworth does with them in the future as I'm counting the days and hoping for an [...]

    10. Great story! Wish it had been longer. But that's okay because it was still great!

    11. It's was good but way too short and there was no explanation how they blow up? Otherwise Cade is a bad ass like always.

    13. Only complaint is I want more. I enjoyed this short trip into Cade's world and hope to soon see another full length story. I love these characters.

    14. This is an excellent novelette as an in between book storyline. Here, there are a group of men who have mastered the art of setting themselves on fire. A job for Cade to put an end to. In this installment, even Zach, who has been a least favorite character of mine, is okay. The character Cade does not get boring, he's good at what he does and few are able to challenge him. The only complaint I have about this book is it's too short. The action, tension and plot was just getting good when it's ov [...]

    15. I shouldn't like these kinds of books. I don't like scary books, don't like creepy books. I'm just not into vampires. But I love these Nathaniel Cade books. This was only a short story but I loved it. Very atmospheric. Zach and Cade are back. This time they're investigating spontaneous human combustion. I hope this gets the author back in the mood to write the next book in the series. He owes us after that cliff-hanger at the end of volume 3. Really. Owes. Us.

    16. A quick read and another adventure of Nathaniel Cade.Even though this is a short one it is still worth reading. You won't feel completely lost if you haven't read any of the others in the series as this one really doesn't follow in the same story line of history. This is a good teaser for our next Cade adventure but we're still waiting on it.The only downfall to this short story is the not much build up just kinda happens and then ends literally.

    17. Just a tasty snack waiting for the next full Nathaniel Cade novel. This is perhaps the only vampire series I can tolerate, although I picked up the first book expecting to give up in disgust at the premise. Very original, very dark and full of creeping Evil and always surprising. Cade is the baddest vampire out there (almost wrote "in fiction").

    18. I enjoyed the book, but it just didn't quite equal the previous novels. More of an appetizer than a full meal. I have come to expect a really satisfying read from Christopher Farnsworth. While "The Burning Men" was engaging and a good story, it was not the "totally engrossing I don't want to put the book down'' experience I usually have with the "Cade" books.

    19. Cade's handlings of situations makes him such an interesting character to follow and this short story is no exception. I will always pick up a Cade story and have started reading the first book out loud to my hubbie who is enjoying it immensely. This book can be read whether you've read the others or not so if you just want to see what it's all about, it's a good start. Enjoy!!

    20. Yay! A little Zach & Cade morsel to help me get through the wait for the next full length novel. Unexpected and delicious! :-) In the acknowledgements, the writer says the story was inspired by a twitter feed, but I'm wondering if it had anything to do with his "near miss" on that LAX shooting awhile back.

    21. It's been too long since the last Nathaniel Cade book and this was a great tide-me-over while we wait for the next full length novel. The ending is a little abrupt. It's difficult to say how that might've been handled differently without giving anything away, but it's enough to say that this was a fast, fun read and worth the download if you enjoyed the earlier novels!

    22. A Very Short Story - SpoilerI like this series. Price was ok. Now that I've read it I can help but feel the author teased me with a very short story which needed to be put out to meet a deadline or something. Why not continue the story and go after old guy at Burning Man??

    23. A quick, little novella to get another taste of Farnsworth's vampire while we wait for a hopeful sequel and his new fountain of youth book. These novellas and short stories by favorite authors are (in my opinion) the only reason to have a eReader because one cannot get them elsewhere.

    24. Was SO excited when I saw Christopher Farnsworth had a new Nathaniel Cade story! I sure missed his and Zack's adventures! This was just as good as the rest, though way shorter than I was hoping for. I hope we get to see more of Cade and Zack soon!

    25. When I first saw this I got really excited that it was set after the 3rd book. It was immediately apparent that it wasn't, but that take away from my enjoyment at all. It was a short, well rounded story with plenty of Cade.

    26. Fun little mini story. With emphasis on the mini part. I'd forgotten how fun it was to see Cade and Zachary go on their missions and by the time I remembered, the story was over. Perhaps Cade is just too efficient at his job. Still waiting for the next book!

    27. Cade does what he does best in this one, no surprise there. The surprise was how much these crimes bothered Zach, to the point that he became the blood thirsty one, I totally agreed with him. There was one funny spot, when one of the scientist hit on Cade, she was a brave woman to even try.

    28. Fast MoverQuick fast story with quick fast action and nice twist. Cade and Zach operate well in this one. It's not a total save the world kind of a thing, but it's still a good read.
