Y encima reales. He conocido mejor a Lovecraft, a Blonch, Clark Ashton Smith, Ramsey Campbell [...]

    4. I was introduced to H.P. Lovecraft and his unique style of supernatural horror fiction through Chaosium’s classic role-playing game, Call of Cthulhu. I’ll also confess to enjoying two of the schlocky B-movies adapted from Lovecraft in the 1980s, Reanimator (outrageously hilarious in an Evil Dead 2 vein), and From Beyond (an over-the-top gore fest). Neither Call of Cthulhu nor the movies would exist without Arkham House, the small publishing firm co-founded by August Derleth specifically to r [...]

    6. This book caught me by surprise. I wasn't looking forward to reading the essays between the stories and intended to skip them. On a perverse personal whim I challenged myself to read the whole book all the way through. I ended up really enjoying the essays while not being so entertained with the authors' stories. On fb I subscribe to a HPL group and certain topics are brought up over and over. One is that many people believe that August Derleth was a talent less hack or some such and he did HPL [...]

    8. The stories in this book are deliciously pulpish and just a joy to read. You'll wonder why we don't have more magazines publishing good horror fiction.
